Kris Kristofferson has sadly passed away. The four-time Grammy award-winning musician and actor died on Saturday (September 28) at his home in Maui, Hawaii, his family has confirmed. “It is with a heavy heart that we share the news our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept.
28 at home,” his family shared in a statement, via Variety. “We’re all so blessed for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these many years, and when you see a rainbow, know he’s smiling down at us all.” The statement was shared on behalf of Kris‘ wife Lisa, his eight children and his seven grandchildren.
In addition to his award-winning country music career, Kris also made a splash on screen, starring in over a hundred films and TV shows, including the 1976 remake of A Star Is Born.
For his work in the film, where he played the male lead alongside Barbra Streisand, he won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor In a Musical.
