The mother of a young Perth man who lost his life in a blade attack has praised a giant sculpture highlighting the dangers of knife crime as it’s revealed the Fair City will be the first in Scotland to display it.
Kerry Burgess’ son, Cammy Rae died after being stabbed three times by killer Caleb Ferguson in April last year. Ferguson, who was 18 at the time of Cammy’s murder, received a sentence of life detention last week for the brutal killing.
The striking 23ft-high Knife Angel sculpture, which is made from confiscated blades, arrived in Perth this week. It is the first Scottish city to ever feature the poignant statue since it was created in 2018.
It will be seen outside Perth Museum throughout December. Cammy’s mother Kerry previously told the PA her family were the ones facing a life sentence as Ferguson was detained for life.
