Kirkcudbright businesses can withstand the economic shock of coronavirus if they stand together.That’s the message from leading hotelier Chris Walker as storm clouds gather for the hospitality sector.Wholescale job losses are already being reported across Scotland as hotels and pubs close.But Mr Walker reckons Kirkcudbright’s legendary tradition of mutual assistance will help the town cope.“I have not seen a time like this in my business – ever,” he told the News.“The key thing is for us is to come together as businesses.“If we don’t then tourism as we know it in this town is over.“There’s a sense of community here which has always been strong in Kirkcudbright.“It takes a lot to knock our town down.“Let’s hope this does not.”Mr Walker said
