King Charles has shared a tender tribute to his late mother Queen Elizabeth II in honour of Mother's Day.The touching post was shared on the official Royal Family account on X (formerly Twitter).
He said: "Wishing all Mothers, and those who are missing their Mums today, a peaceful Mothering Sunday."In a separate message, the Princess of Wales thanked the public for their support.
The statement was accompanied with a never-before-seen picture of Kate with her children George, Charlotte and Louis.Queen Elizabeth died at the age of 96 on September 8 2022.
Sitting on the throne for 70 years, she was the country's longest reigning monarch before King Charles succeeded her. The 75-year-old sovereign is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.Her final moments at Balmoral were spent with her four children - King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.In an address days after her death, King Charles said: "And to my darling Mama, as you begin your last great journey to join my dear late Papa, I want simply to say this: thank you. "Thank you for your love and devotion to our family and to the family of nations you have served so diligently all these years.
