A man has been sentenced to life behind bars after he stabbed another man outside of a nightclub who he believed had 'disrespected him', a court heard.
Zechelle Reid, 31, plunged a knife into the chest of Jason Bentley-Morrison, 25, during a fight in front of a nightclub. Reid, of no fixed address, was found guilty of the charge last week following a two-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court and must serve a minimum of 20 years before being considered for parole, Birmingham Live writes.
Reid had gone to Oxford Street in Digbeth on August 22, 2021. He got out of a Mercedes car and appeared to speak to a couple of people outside the Lab 11 nightclub before returning to the vehicle which he then parked on a street nearby.
Just mere minutes later, Mr Bentley-Morrison came out of the club and Reid, who by this time had returned to the club, appeared to 'mouth' something to the victim.
