And one of those is Arsenal with Gunners star Tierney earning the inside track on Merino with the pair sharing a dressing room in San Sebastian last season.
And the former Celtic star – who faces an uncertain future at the Emirates – was full of praise about the A-list talents he played alongside during his season in La Liga.Tierney, speaking to The Guardian earlier this year, said: “You have world-class players like (Martin) Zubimendi, Merino, Brais.
It’s not that people don’t think they’re good. It’s just that if you’re only watching the Premier League every week, it’s hard to know (how good these players are).
