It can be tricky keeping kids busy during the summer holidays with several weeks to be filled with activities. Luckily there are lots of things to do across Greater Manchester this summer, whether you’ve got little ones to entertain or teenagers looking for something to do.
East Lancashire Railway is always a popular spot with families and this summer is no different. Kicking off its summer events this August is A Day Out with Thomas, where children can meet Thomas the Tank Engine in real life, along with his friends and Sir Topham Hatt.
Starting at Bury Bolton Street Station, kids can get up close to Thomas, meet Sir Topham Hatt, Rusty and Dusty. Then families can ride on heritage carriages pulled by Thomas himself through the Greater Manchester countryside. There will also be Thomas & Friends giveaways for every child. The Day Out with Thomas’ events take place on August 3 and 4.
