Kids booted off indoor pitch at Ravenscraig as North Lanarkshire Council give park to SRU

Over 30 kids face being booted off an indoor pitch after North Lanarkshire Council clinched a deal with the Scottish Rugby Union.

The children, aged between eight and 15, come from Wishaw and Newmains to play in the indoor park at Ravenscraig for the past three years.However, the kids, who have named their ‘team’ West Ashy United, and adult volunteers were left stunned following their last game at Ravenscraig when they were informed that the SRU would be taking over the full use of the pitch and they would no longer be able to use the facilities.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
