nypost.combig way. After a season of build-up, SNL50 weekend kicks off with a celebration of one of the signature elements of “SNL”: music. “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” will bring together some of the biggest names in music past and present, most of whom are notable “SNL” musical guests.
Cher, Dave Grohl, Jack White, Lady Gaga, and Snoop Dogg are among tonight’s performers. Former “Saturday Night Live” cast member and current “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon will serve as the night’s emcee, with his “Tonight Show” band The Roots also expected to appear.
The Roots frontman Questlove previously helped ring in the 50th anniversary with his documentary “Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music,” which is now streaming on Peacock.
