Kevin van Veen: Motherwell boss tight-lipped over 'move' for 'Rangers-linked' striker

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell remained tight-lipped over a potential move for Fir Park hero Kevin van Veen.The Dutch striker scored 29 goals last season before moving to second-tier club Groningen in the summer.That move has turned sour, van Veen is in Scotland to attend to his girlfriend and their first child.Groningen have since said van Veen is free to move on, but have dismissed speculation linking him with a loan move to Rangers, and add that he's welcome to join them for training in January.Van Veen was a favourite with fans and players alike last season, and Kettlewell has stayed in regular touch with him, but says there’s nothing to report as yet.He said: “There’s absolutely nothing to tell you on it, to be honest.“I spoke to one or two people here and they alluded to the fact there were one or two stories that have been out in the press in the last couple of days.“I personally haven’t seen them, actually, it was brought to my attention and there’s nothing to update you on in terms of whether we’re looking to bring Kevin into the football club or where he’s going.“I saw there were three or four other clubs linked with him as well, so there’s nothing to speak of on that front.”Kettlewell says Motherwell could possibly bring in two signings during the January transfer window, but any more than that would depend on others leaving, which he’s keen to avoid.He said: “The way we’ve set our stall out just now there has been a lot of open and honest, and clear, conversations with myself and members of the board.“At this stage we know we’ll Probably have that opportunity to bring in maybe one, possibly two, and I suppose if that number increases in any way it could only be by one or two players moving on, which may
