Rangers have been told Kevin Muscat could do an Ange at Ibrox. The former Rangers star has been touted as a possible boss with Gio van Bronckhost ’s future in the balance after a struggling start to the season.

Ex-Socceroos star Muscat has followed in the footsteps of Celtic gaffer Ange Postecoglou by also winning titles in his homeland and Japan.

The former Rangers midfielder – who won the Treble at Ibrox in 2002/03 – was the Hoops manager’s No.2 at Yokohama F Marinos before he moved into the hotseat and delivered the Japanese crown this month.

Sydney FC boss Steve Corica is tight with both bosses – and he’s convinced Muscat could have a similar impact at Ibrox as title-winning Postecoglou has pulled off at Parkhead.
