Kevin McCarthy Makes History as First Speaker of the House to Be Removed From Position
justjared.comKevin McCarthy just made history on the floor of the United States House of Representatives. The 58-year-old representative from California was removed from his position as Speaker of the House on Tuesday (October 3) after members of his own party turned their backs on him.

By doing so, he angered some conservative Republicans, including Matt Gaetz. According to Forbes, Matt brought about the articles to remove Kevin from the position of Speaker.
Seven other Republicans in the House agreed with him. Despite working with Kevin to avoid a shutdown, Democrats opted out of supporting the politician and largely voted for him to be removed from office.
