Kevin Darnell Hart (born July 6, 1979) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and producer. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Hart began his career by winning several amateur comedy competitions at clubs throughout New England, culminating in his first real break in 2001 when he was cast by Judd Apatow for a recurring role on the TV series Undeclared. The series lasted only one season, but he soon landed other roles in films such as Paper Soldiers (2002), Scary Movie 3 (2003), Soul Plane (2004), In the Mix (2005), and Little Fockers (2010).

Kevin Hart said on the May 5 episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" that it was more or less important for the man who attacked Dave Chappelle on stage to get beaten up for the world to see.

Chappelle was performing at the Hollywood Bowl as part of the Netflix Is a Joke comedy festival when a man ran up on stage and tried to tackle him.

It was later revealed the man was carrying a plastic replica gun containing a knife. Chappelle’s security team then tackled the attacker.

Video footage revealed the attacker had broken his arm. Hart came to the defense of Chappelle after he was attacked by an audience member during a recent performance. "Somebody ran onstage and got their a-- whooped," Hart said. "Not scary.
