Amy, 71, has opened up about being Katie's mother, as well as the struggles that Katie, 45, a mum-of-five, has faced through the years - which have been well-documented.
Amy, who is is living with terminal idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, is currently on a promotional trail for her new memoir, The Last Word.
In the book, she spoke about Katie being 'molested' by a man in a park when she was just seven years old, whilst her young friend was forced to perform a sex act on the man, who had lured them into scrubland.
