Katharine McPhee and her husband David Foster have suffered a "horrible" family tragedy as it has been revealed that their son's nanny has died.
The international singer was due to perform two tour dates at the end of her mammoth world tour in Asia, but has sadly had to pull out as a result of the news.
She took to her Instagram to give her apologies to fans who have already bought tickets for the shows. Katharine then explained that either she, David, 73, or both would need to fly back to the US as soon as possible to be with their child. "Dearest Jakarta fans, It's with heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final two shows of our Asia run," the 39 year old star began. "David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us needs to get back home to our family. "Please know how sorry I am and how much I wish to return one day and perform for you all," Katharine added, before signing off with her name.
Meanwhile, TMZ claimed that while the person who died was yet to be announced publicly, it was Katharine and David's nanny. The publication said that a source claimed the couple's two year old son Rennie's nanny, who they "considered family", had passed away. "We still don't know what the circumstances are surrounding her death, but we're told Katharine is currently en route to the U.S.," the outlet added.
