Kate Middleton and her sister-in-law Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, share a surprisingly close connection with a bond stronger than many may think.
Both senior royals boast 'ordinary' backgrounds compared to their Royal spouses - Prince William and Prince Edward, and their camaraderie has flourished in Windsor, where they are practically neighbours.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl shared: "Sophie and Catherine are very close – I think much more so than people realise," adding, "There's not a huge age difference between them, and Sophie really welcomed Catherine when she married into the family.
She was an outsider and so-called commoner, just as Sophie was, so they had that bond from an early stage." Sophie grew up in Kent to working parents and attended top-notch private schools.
