To say it’s been a difficult start to the year for the Princess of Wales would be an understatement. And according to royal experts, the unexpected arrival of Prince Harry in the UK last week following King Charles’ shock cancer diagnosis is likely to have reignited the “lack of trust” Kate feels towards him and his wife Meghan.
The Duke of Sussex flew into London from California last Tuesday after he’d received a phone call from his 75 year old father to tell him about his health condition.
Last Monday, Buckingham Palace released a statement, which read: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted.
Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer. “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.” But while Prince Harry, 39, headed back to LA 24 hours later – having been granted just half an hour with his dad at Clarence House on Tuesday – royal author Tessa Dunlop said it will have brought up a lot of difficult emotions for the Prince and Princess of Wales, given their history with Harry and Meghan, 42. “The lack of trust is predictable given the indiscretions coming from the Sussex camp including the suggestions of racism and eventual disclosure of two royal identities, including Kate,” Tessa told OK!. “And the way Harry wrote about Kate in his memoir Spare, and how he felt that Meghan wasn’t given the warm welcome she deserved, I think she will have felt hurt by that.” Tessa, who wrote Elizabeth And Philip: A Story Of Young Love, Marriage And Monarchy, says Harry’s trip to London will also have been painful reminder to Kate – who is.
