This special relationship between the King, his daughter-in-law and his Wales grandchildren will be hugely important at this time, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond notes.

Speaking exclusively to OK!, Jennie explained: "I noticed in the King’s statement of support after Kate's broadcast he said he was in the 'closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law'.
