But there was one gift from Kate that broke the mould.The Princess of Wales has opened up about the sentimental present she once gave to the late Queen, and how she was inspired by her own grandmother.
In a 2016 ITV documentary celebrating the Queen's 90th birthday, Kate shared: "I can remember being at Sandringham for the first time at Christmas.
And I was worried what to give the Queen as her Christmas present." She continued: "I was thinking, 'Gosh, what should I give her? ' I thought back to what I would give my own grandparents.
