Kate Garraway has had a tough couple of years but despite her heartbreak after losing her husband Derek Draper last month, she's thrown her supports behind her Good Morning Britain co-star Richard Arnold.Richard recently shared the tough news that he's now caring for his mum.Despite dealing with her own sadness, Kate, 56, has been a huge help to Richard whose mum became ill last year and now needs him all the time.
Richard recently opened up about how amazing Kate's been, sharing that she has been giving advice from her own time looking after Derek, who was very ill for almost four years and was laid to rest last week, writes The Mirror.
He told The Sun: "Mum had a bout of ill health last year and unfortunately she's now no longer independent and I'm there every day." Talking about the hard bits of caring, he added: "I remember saying to Kate, you know, you sort of feel guilty when you are there, are you doing enough?
And then you feel guilty when you're not there enough. Anyone who's in that position as a sort of unpaid carer knows it's a huge responsibility." Richard wants to make every day great for his mum Dot, 81, and he's doing it on his own since his dad passed away seven years ago.
