Far from being in the doldrums, Kate has put on a brave face as she looks to find a path forward through her family's crisis.
The smile was genuine in the affectionate photo with Adil as they celebrated their first day together presenting ITV's breakfast show.
Citizen Khan star Adil had said previously that he had wanted to give Kate a big hug after all that she had been through recently but social distancing had prevented that from happening.
