mirror.co.ukKate Garraway is converting her home ready for when husband Derek Draper can return home from hospital. The 53-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter has overhauled the ground floor of their London home so Derek could use it when he comes home to live.
She has made it wheelchair accessible and already has a hospital bed in the lounge which will be his new bedroom. Viewers will see the renovations taking place in the new ITV documentary Finding Derek.
The changes to the house were made last year in the hope he could visit but that was before lockdown. Since then Kate has been unable to visit Derek in hospital and his condition has not improved so a home visit will not happen soon.
