Kanye West is standing by the anti-abortion comments he made during his first presidential campaign rally in South Carolina.

West took to Twitter on Friday (July 31) -- about two weeks after breaking down in tears on stage in Charleston while revealing that he and wife Kim Kardashian considered aborting their daughter North -- to restate his feelings about the controversial topic. "I cried at the thought of aborting my first born and everyone was so concerned about me," the 43-year-old rapper and fashion mogul wrote. "I’m concerned for the world that feels you shouldn’t cry about this subject." He added that more than "22,500,000 black babies have been aborted" during the past 50 years.
