Kanye West forked out £6.5 million to post a Super Bowl ad for people to buy white t-shirts with a Nazi swastika. The controversial rap artist posted the ad after a series of rants in which he declared: “I’m a Nazi” and that he is a big fan of Adolf Hitler.

The 30-second ad directed people to his website where he had just one item available for sale.Despite the offensive nature of the swastika t-shirt, which he offered for $20, fans of Kanye bought up 100,000 of the t-shirts netting the music and sneaker mogul $2 million.Kanye says he shot the ad, which shocked a lot of viewers, on his iPhone.

Fox News claimed they did not know the nature of the ad when they approved it, having been aware only that it promoted his website. When they checked the website content there was “just normal Yeezy athletic and athleisure gear” only for the offerings to be reduced to just one item when the ad aired on Sunday. Our sources say Ye bought the spot -- which cost him $8 million -- through a third-party advertising agency.

It's unclear when he made the purchase or when he shot it, but we're told it's commonly the agency's job to vet the clients it's pitching to networks.
