Kandi Burruss & Todd Tucker Join Broadway Producing Team For ‘Othello’ Starring Denzel Washington And Jake Gyllenhaal
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Grammy winner and Real Housewives vet Kandi Burruss and husband/entrepreneur Todd Tucker have joined the producing team of next spring’s much-anticipated Broadway revival of Othello starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Burruss and Tucker previously collaborated with Othello producer Brian Anthony Moreland on the Tony Award nominated revival of The Piano Lesson as well as The Wiz and Thoughts of a Colored Man.
Moreland announced the pair’s participation as Othello producers today. Also announced was the co-producing roster, which will include football player-turned-actor Devale Ellis and Kinky Boots producer Ken Davenport.
The first Broadway revival of the Shakespeare tragedy since 1982’s production starring James Earl Jones, Christopher Plummer and Dianne Wiest, the spring 2025 staging will star Washington as Othello, Gyllenhaal as Iago and Broadway newcomer Molly Osborne as Desdemona.
