Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.
The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.
Kamala Harris‘ presidential campaign is launching its first major ad buy with its initial ad, “Fearless,” focused in part on the vice president’s background as a prosecutor as well as a central theme that Donald Trump “wants to take our country backwards.” The spot will air as part of a $50 million buy across battleground states through the Democratic National Convention next month.
It will run on local and national broadcast, cable and streaming, as well as on social media. In addition to shows like The Bachelorette, The Simpsons, The Daily Show and Big Brother, the campaign plans to air spots local and nationally during the Olympic Games.
Shorter versions — including 15-second and six-second spots — will show up on Connected TV, audio and social platforms, the campaign said.
Harris says in the spot, “This campaign is about who we fight for. We believe in a future where every person has the opportunity not just to get by, but to get ahead.
