The Blues had the advantage on seven minutes when neat build-up play by Riyad Mahrez allowed Kevin De Bruyne to flash a cross, across the face of the goal for Phil Foden to tap home.

Bristol City battled valiantly in the hour that followed but went 2-0 down on 74 minutes. An exquisite ball by De Bruyne found Nathan Ake, he eventually worked it back to Julian Alvarez who picked out Foden to fire home the second.

The match was over as a contest but De Bruyne added gloss to the scoreline when he fired home from outside the area to secure the victory.
