Spewing what’s on their minds, or deftly concealing it, as we hang on every word. “Air” has come along at just the right moment to remind us that terrific actors delivering savory lines of dialogue is the most special effects that a movie needs.

In a shock announcement, Netflix has confirmed they have cancelled its hit show Sex/Life after just two series.The series, which was inspired by the novel 44 Chapters About 4 Men by B.B. Easton, became a huge success after it launched on the streaming service in 2021 with creator Stacy Rukeyser previously sharing hopes for a third series. However, fans were left disappointed when it returned earlier this year and found that it had two fewer episodes.

Star Wars Celebration in London, Variety spoke with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy about some of the franchise’s future installments. Kennedy was keen to talk about bringing back Daisy Ridley’s Rey for a new “Star Wars” film, which was announced during an April 7 panel. “It was a pretty straightforward phone call,” she said. “I started out by just saying, ‘Hey, I think we’re getting near being ready.’ We’ve been talking a lot about what we’re doing in the movie space and I said, ‘I think we’re getting close to being ready. How would you like to go to Celebration?’ That was really the beginning of it. She was out of her mind excited.”
