Philadelphia Union boss Jim Curtin has set Kai Wagner a deadline to agree a new contract with Rangers on red alert. Philippe Clement kicked off his January business by snapping up Fabio Silva from Wolves but they look far from done with their activity in the winter window with additions at full-back next on the agenda.
Borna Barisic is out of contract in the summer and Ridvan Yilmaz has struggled to live up to the £5million price tag forked out by Rangers to take him from Besiktas 18 months ago.
Wagners is understood to be among a host of players the Ibrox scouts have looked at to fill the role in Clement's revamped side, with the 26-year-old out of contract in January following the end of the Major League Soccer season last month.
He appears set to bring the curtain down on his four-year stint in Philadelphia but Union boss Curtin remained hopeful he would put pen to paper. However, he admitted the club would not wait forever with interest ramping up from across Europe.
