Juventus have been hit with a one-year ban from all European football by UEFA.It comes after the Serie A giants were punished for breaches of club licensing and financial fair play by the governing body, with their involvement in this season's Europa Conference League to be terminated, and last season's runners up Fiorentina likely to replace them.

Massimiliano Allegri's side have been hit with a fine of over £17million but the Athletic state around £8.5million is conditional and will only be enforced if there are continued irregularities in the club's annual financial statements for the next three years. In a twist of fate, the ban allows Premier League Aston Villa to move from an un-seeded position to the seeded pot for their crucial qualifiers next month.

It also means Hearts and Hibs cannot face the Italian should they progress. The Old Lady were subject to a UEFA investigation that began in December over alleged financial violations relating to revenues from player registration rights between 2019 and 2021.

Juve were hit with sanctions earlier this year with an initial 15-point penalty in the league eventually suspended and reduced to a 10-point penalty in May.
