Ronald Gladden‘s star continues to rise in Hollywood, following his achievements on the surprise hit series Jury Duty, a top-secret docu-style comedy created by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg.
He has signed a two-year overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios to produce, develop, and star in a variety of content. Gladden unknowingly made his TV debut in the Amazon Freevee project he believed was taking part in a docuseries chronicling the inner workings of an American jury trial.
Everyone working on Jury Duty was aware they were involved in a fake court case except for Gladden, who up until his casting was a solar contractor originally from Oregon. “Words cannot express how excited I am to officially be a part of the Amazon family,” Gladden shared in a statement. “Jury Duty was a remarkable experience for me and one that introduced me to so many creative and inspiring people.
I’m now looking forward to utilizing those new relationships to develop projects for Amazon MGM Studios.” The series earned four Emmy Award nominations including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing & Casting and a Supporting Actor nod for James Marsden.
