Jurgen Klopp has been warned that he must not rely too much on Joel Matip after the defender’s latest injury setback. Matip was the only fit senior centre-back following the injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, as well as the summer sale of Dejan Lovren.
However, the Cameroon international suffered a similar fate to his teammates during the 1-1 draw with West Brom on Sunday evening.
It remains to be seen how long Liverpool will be without Matip, but it looks like he will spend some time on the sidelines. The blow is another in a string of setbacks for Matip during his time at Anfield.
