Jurgen Klopp is over the moon to confirm the arrival of Diogo Jota - for a number of reasons. Liverpool have snapped up the Portugal forward for a fee of up to £45m in a whirlwind 24 hour period for the club.
He joins Thiago Alcantara as new faces at Anfield after a deal was struck with Wolves. In a separate transfer, Ki-Jana Hoever went the other way in search of first-team football.
But while the arrival of Jota seemed to come out of nowhere, there has actually been a hefty chunk of planning gone into the transfer.
The 23-year-old has been on Liverpool's radar for some time, with reports coming as early as two years ago. It coincides with the Reds signing Fabinho, who works with the agency Gestifute.
