Julianne Moore is expressing her frustration regarding the banning of her children’s book in selected schools in the USA.

The 64-year-old actress’s 2007 book, titled “Freckleface Strawberry,” tells the story of a 7-year-old girl who is insecure about her freckles, but later learns to accept what makes her unique. Keep reading to find out more… However, last week, the Department of Defense suspended library books in Pentagon schools that were “potentially related to gender ideology or discriminatory equity ideology topics” due to President Donald Trump‘s executive order aimed at transgender people (per The Guardian).

Upon learning the news, Julianne took to Instagram to call out the apparent act of censorship under the Trump administration. “It is a great shock for me to learn that my first book ‘Freckleface Strawberry’ has been banned by the Trump Administration from schools run by the Department of Defense.

It is a book I wrote for my children and for other kids to remind them that we all struggle, but are united by our humanity and our community,” she wrote. “I can’t help but wonder what is so controversial about this picture book that cause it to be banned by the US Government.
