Judy Greer could’ve possibly starred on Modern Family! The 49-year-old actress recently revealed that she had the chance to audition for the Emmy award-winning ABC comedy, but she turned it down.
While appearing on Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson‘s podcast Dinner’s On Me, she dished on skipping out on the show and why she didn’t want to be on it at the time. Keep reading to find out more… “This was a time in my career when I was starting to [play characters with children],” she shared, recalling being asked to audition for Claire Dunphy, which ended up going to Julie Bowen. “It sounds so silly to say it out loud now, but I’ll be honest,” Judy added. “In a movie, I would have a kid.
And then there was this opportunity to audition where I would have three kids, one of them in high school, and on a TV show… and you do have to think of these things in success, and obviously Modern Family was a huge success.
In a movie, people kind of see it and then they forget. In a TV show, it’s just like, you’re a mom.” The actress explained how she “didn’t even want kids” in real life, noting, “That was not even on the table for me.
