Goal hero Jota netted a stunner for Celtic to sink Aberdeen before he wowed fans with his perfect Glasgow lingo. The 23-year-old smashed home a sublime strike to round off a 2-0 win for the Premiership champions as they got their title defence off to the perfect start against Jim Goodwin's new-look Dons.

Jota had been heard pre-match debuting his local diction during a pre-match interview and once again displayed it at full time as he reacted to his strike en route to picking up three points as he saluted Stephen Welsh grabbing the opener after only three minutes.

The Portuguese star has become a firm fans' favourite in Glasgow's east end and not just for his footballing talent. Supporters have quickly aligned with his affable character, and that now seemingly includes some Scottish flourishes in his post-match interviews.

He told Sky Sports: "Aye, definitely. It's always important to start with a goal, then we get the confidence going and now with our principles or our game, the high tempo, we just have to get better and I think we are going to good place."That is just our game, we aim to be always on it, trying to score, positive football, sometimes we cannot score a lot of goals but you have to keep on trying, be in the right spots and finish with quality. "It's a flow moment (his goal), I just got the opportunity to shoot and it went in, I was very happy.
