justjared.comThe Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd is officially open! Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford hit the red carpet at the opening night performance on Sunday (March 26) at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City.
They were joined by co-stars Jordan Fisher, Gaten Matarazzo, Ruthie Ann Miles, Maria Bilbao, Nicholas Christopher, Jamie Jackson, and John Rapson.
Here is the synopsis, via Playbill: “After 15 years in exile, Sweeney Todd, an unsettling man with a mysterious past, arrives in a dark and gritty London, hungry for vengeance against the judge who destroyed his life.
Todd joins forces with Mrs. Lovett, the unhinged proprietress of a failing pie shop, and together they develop a spinetingling plot to exact revenge.
