Josh Gad opened up about some professional advice that he got from Jake Gyllenhaal while they collaborated on the set of Love & Other Drugs.
In his new memoir “In Gad We Trust,” the 43-year-old actor revealed that he picked Jake‘s mind about an opportunity that came his way.
He said that Jake strongly recommended that he avoid the offer and recalled the funny story of their conversation. Keep reading to find out more… The role in question was in The Book of Mormon, a musical which ultimately earned Josh a Tony nomination.
However, Jake was concerned that the play, which was written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, would be too controversial. “One day as Jake and I were driving home from set in Pittsburgh, I asked him if I could play a demo of a new musical that I had recently done a workshop for in New York, hoping to get his advice as to whether or not I should pursue it further.
