Josh Brolin Passes on Green Lantern DC Series 'Lanterns' for HBO
justjared.comJosh Brolin is passing on a Green Lantern-related opportunity. The 56-year-old No Country for Old Men actor has passed on an offer to star in Lanterns, the DC Studios series based on the superhero, according to THR.
He was being considered for the part of Hal Jordan, the cocky Green Lantern hero previously played by Ryan Reynolds in the 2011 movie. Keep reading to find out more… According to multiple sources to THR, the actor “received on offer at the end of August.
By the end of this past weekend, his mind was made up. No other details were available.” Lanterns has enlisted Ozark’s Chris Mundy as the showrunner for the eight-episode series, co-written by Damon Lindelof, the creator of Lost, as well as comics author Tom King.
The show is still in casting stages, and will reportedly begin filming next January to June in Atlanta. Josh most recently played Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
