Jon Stewart is staying aboard at The Daily Show. Comedy Central announced that the longtime host has signed an extension that will keep him as a once-a-week host and full-time executive producer of The Daily Show through December 2025, via THR.

Nine months ago, Jon made a deal to return to the show he hosted from 1998 through 2015. Keep reading to find out more… That initial deal saw him hosting the show once a week (usually Monday nights) through the presidential election.

The extension will keep him on The Daily Show through the first year of the next president’s term. “Jon’s incisive intellect and sharp wit make him one of the most important voices in political and cultural commentary today,” said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and president/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios. “His ability to cut through the noise and deliver clear-eyed insights is exactly what we need, which is why we are thrilled to have him leading The Daily Show for another year.” Jon added in a statement, “I’ve truly enjoyed being back working with the incredible team at The Daily Show and Comedy Central.

I was really hoping they’d allow me to do every other Monday, but I’ll just have to suck it up.” Find out who lost a gig on the show due to controversy.
