‘Joker: Folie A Deux’ Lands R Rating For “Strong Violence” And “Brief Full Nudity”

Joker: Folie à Deux, Todd Phillips’ musical follow-up to his 2019 DC film, has landed an R rating from the Motion Picture Association (MPA).

In its ratings bulletin published this morning, the association said the film is “Rated R for some strong violence, language throughout, some sexuality, and brief full nudity.” Phillips’ first Joker outing also clocked an R rating and made history when it crossed  $788.1M worldwide, surpassing Deadpool to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.

Joaquin Phoenix reprises the titular role as Arther Fleck (aka Joker) in Folie à Deux. His first outing in 2019 received critical acclaim.

His performance won him an Academy Award for Best Actor, with the film garnering 11 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director for Todd Phillips.
