J. Kim Murphy At least three suspects were served search warrants by the LAPD homicide bureau in connection to the death of Johnny Wactor, law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times on Thursday.
Two were detained in lieu of bail. The 37-year-old, who featured on “General Hospital,” was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles on May 25 during a suspected catalytic converter theft attempt.
The Times reported that anonymous law enforcement sources shared that the Wactor investigation is looking into Florencia 13 gang members tied to catalytic converter thefts in the area.
A statement of probable cause was used to obtain warrants for three individuals, whose fingerprints matched those lifted from a floor jack that was employed to steal Wactor’s catalytic converter.
