A picture of Johnny Depp 's scratched and bruised face has been show in court today amid allegations he was slapped by his ex-wife Amber Heard.

The actor 57, returned to London's High Court today as his libel case against News Group Newspapers continues. The actor is suing NGN over a story published in The Sun in 2018 which branded him a "wife beater" - a claim which he strenuously denies.

Depp's former partner Vanessa Paradis had been due to take to the witness stand today, but her testimony was cancelled along with that of his ex-girlfriend Winona Ryder.

Instead, Depp's former bodyguard Sean Bett took to the stand. He told the court he had never seen Depp being violent towards his wife, and was shown a picture, said to have been
