He has been nominated for ten Golden Globe Awards, winning one for Best Actor for his performance of the title role in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2008), and has been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Actor, among other accolades. He is regarded as one of the world's biggest film stars. Depp made his film debut in the 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street, before rising to prominence as a teen idol on the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990). He had a supporting role in Oliver Stone's 1986 war film Platoon and played the title character in the 1990 romantic fantasy Edward Scissorhands.

mirror.co.ukJohnny Depp's home was invaded by a homeless man who had a shower and made himself a drink, it's claimed. Police were allegedly called by a neighbour of the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, who said they had seen the man hanging around in their garden by the pool.
They said the man took off when he was confronted and he jumped a gate, which actually got him closer to Johnny's house, TMZ reports.
Shortly after that, cops were called again by Depp's security team alerting them someone was inside his home, according to the report.
When they arrived, they allegedly found him taking a shower in one of the bathrooms. He reportedly refused to come out. Police had to kick the door down in order to arrest him, it's claimed.
