After insisting he would be appealing the ruling, Johnny Depp has been refused permission to appeal after losing his libel action against The Sun.
The actor brought legal action against the publication after it referred to him as a ‘wife beater’. A high court judge has ordered Depp to make an initial payment of £630,000 in legal fees to The Sun’s publishers News Group Newspapers.
