In-demand John Souttar won't leave Hearts to move to England just for the money, insists former mentor Simon Donnelly. The 25-year-old defender has clubs both sides of the border on alert with Rangers set to make their move with a pre-contract offer for the Scotland star.
Clubs south of the border including Sheffield United are also looking to make their move for the centre-back after he knocked back a new deal at Tynecastle.
However Donnelly, who worked as Dundee United assistant boss while Souttar made his first-team breakthrough, reckons it won't be a pay day that seals a move.
He claims that a vision pitched by the Ibrox hierarchy could be the deciding factor for Souttar.Donnelly told The Go Radio Football Show: "I worked with John at Dundee United.
