Hearts manager Robbie Neilson believes a January deal for John Souttar is "bubbling away in the background" but expects the defender to play on Wednesday night.
The centre-back has signed a pre-contract deal with Rangers and will make the switch to Ibrox in the summer. That brought a furious backlash from the Tynecastle stands, and the Premiership champions made a move to bring him in right away.
A £300k bid was booted out by Hearts though, with Souttar missing the Scottish Cup game against Auchinleck Talbot with injury.
The Jambos face Livingston in the league on Wednesday, and their manager is expecting the Scotland cap to be available.Neilson told Sky Sports: "John will train today so I expect him to be fully fit for Wednesday and I don't see anything changing until then."It's no problem at all, things will be bubbling away in the background.
