John Paragon, 'Pee-Wee's Playhouse' Star, Dies at 66

John Paragon has sadly passed away. The Pee-wee’s Playhouse star, known for playing Jambi the Genie, died at the age of 66, Fox News confirmed Friday (June 18). Click inside to read more… A representative from Riverside County Coroner in California confirmed that he died back in April 3 in Palm Springs.

A cause of death has not yet been revealed. John Paragon got his start at the improv comedy theater group, The Groundlings.

He later made his debut on The Pee-wee Herman Show, and then reprised his role as Jambi the Genie in Pee-wee’s Playhouse until the show’s end in 1990.

He also wrote and directed multiple episodes of the show. In addition, he played the role in Pee-wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special in 1988, and got an Emmy nomination
