John Owen Lowe addressed his status as a “nepo baby” in a new interview. The 28-year-old son of actor Rob Lowe has shared the screen with his father several times, most recently in their new Netflix series Unstable.
In it, they play an estranged father-son pair who are brought back together at a chaotic time. He explained how similar the roles they play in the show are to their actual selves and addressed how closely he resembles his dad while speaking with Variety. However, he could draw one big parallel. “The show is about a son who wants to get out of his father’s shadow, and I am literally a son who wants to get out of my father’s shadow,” he explained.
In regards to that, he said that he “did experience pockets where I didn’t have an identity, because of what it was like growing up with a father who sort of sucks the air out of every room you’re in with him.” The star added that he was grateful to not “inherit the full facial physique” of his father.
