John Magaro & Jeannie Berlin Join Maggie Gyllenhaal’s ‘The Bride!’
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: John Magaro (Past Lives) and Jeannie Berlin (You Hurt My Feelings) have been tapped for supporting roles in Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Frankenstein film, The Bride!, starring Christian Bale.
No word on the roles they’ll be playing. As previously announced, the Warner Bros film also stars Jessie Buckley, Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Penelope Cruz and Julianne Hough.
Marking Gyllenhaal’s follow-up to the Academy Award-nominated Netflix drama The Lost Daughter, The Bride! watches as a lonely Frankenstein travel to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of a Dr.
Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.
